The Funeral For Whitney Houston Will Broadcast on TV and Web

It will officially mark the end of an era when legendary pop singer Whitney Houston is put to rest during a funeral set for Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey – the same church Houston attended as a child. In this sense, she’s truly going home.

The funeral will be made available for viewers on TV and online via web streaming inside a venue that will pack a much smaller group of people than what Houston performed in front of during the peak of her illustrious career. An estimated 1,500 people will be in attendance – all of which include invitees only.

The family of Whitney Houston has not yet announced the burial location; however, Houston’s death certificate lists it as Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.

Houston was found dead on February 11, 2012 in the bathtub of her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammys party inside the same hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The cause of her death has yet to be found while a pending outcome of toxicology tests are to be determined.
